SINGULAR
Our Mission
SIRCULAR enables actors in the construction and building sector to realise circularity and decarbonisation of the built environment, by developing and piloting a range of innovative digital tools, technological solutions and non-technical services, including a ready-to-use methodology for assessing the circularity of a given building and evaluating the impact of the developed construction technologies and materials used. The tools are intended to improve access to information on decarbonisation for end users who are not experts in these fields, as well as to provide professionals working in the construction sector with tools capable of easily evaluating and improving the circularity of this sector.
Objectives
OBJECTIVES
Sustainable and integrated people centric solutions for building decarbonisation and circularity.
Sircular has the following objectives.
Objective 1:
To improve the availability of creative plans packages, co-design techniques, and bio-based construction techniques for eco-friendly building and remodelling, through an innovative digital platform.
Objective 2:
To expand the range of choices for built environment decarbonization routes leading to zero-emission structures while taking into account the entire value chain at local or regional level, by developing a method to assess building circularity with evidence-based performance KPIs
Objective 3:
To strengthen the value chain’s engagement and participation in local and regional innovation clusters by establishing regional innovation clusters for deploying the projects demonstration actions
Objective 4:
To accelerate the adoption of sustainable renovation methods and enhancing the comprehension of investment impacts on various risk dimensions through SIRCULAR tools such the Circularity Index Assessment Tool.
Objective 5:
To spread knowledge about reusing building items and circular companies and to make information easier to acquire on a local or regional level by developing digital tools (WP2), technology solutions (WP3), and services to support decarbonization in construction
Objective 6:
To develop new business prospects for investing in the circular economy that are lower risk through interactive sessions with stakeholders, experts, and policymakers that aid in selecting the best investment approach to de-risk circular project lifecycles
Objective 7:
To increase involvement among various stakeholders in the construction industry, such as material and equipment producers, construction firms, as well as local and regional authorities, across the entire construction process, and directly involving final users and stakeholders in tools design, demonstration and testing as well as the building occupants in the project implementation by social innovation activities
