– INTACT

Our Mission

The INTACT (Integrated software toolbox for secure IoT-to-Cloud computing) project is setting out to develop an integrated software toolbox that will enhance cybersecurity for distributed IoT-to-Cloud networks. The aim is for the resulting tools to allow predictive cybersecurity sensing, optimization, and the management of such networked assets. Critical in its aims will seeing the resulting tools fulfil their tasks with a minimal impact on computing capacity, energy consumption, monetary costs, and so forth. The IoT-to-Cloud continuum will be assessed by replacing it with digital twins which will act as virtual (isolated) dataspaces where the developed tools will carry out stress tests to help predict optimal risk mitigation measures. The development will include considering 5 test cases covering telcos, health 4.0, transportation, safety-critical nuclear infrastructure, and smart cities.

Objectives

Objective #1: Build a Predictive Threat Intelligence Engine using attack-defence games, kinematic and structural AI calculus, and unified Security-vs-Everything KPI trade-off functions (-vs-Computing-vs-Privacy-vs-Energy-vs-…).

Objective #2: Build two Automated Engines of Risk Validation & Verification at Software and Firmware via portable Security Probes with embedded deep and soft AI risk analysis executed directly at the edge (i.e., closer to the data sources).

Objective #3: Build a Digital Twinning Framework for replicating IoT-to-Cloud systems based on zero-trust distributed computing mechanisms for end-to-end security, identity, privacy, and resilience at all hardware, system, and application levels.

Objective #4: Build a Cybersecurity Software Toolbox that integrates the processes of Objectives #1 to #3 together with reactive human-machine interaction schema based on security awareness training and explainable AI dashboards.

Objective #5: To develop four TRL7 Operational Deployments and validate them over telcos, health, transportation, and safety-critical (nuclear) infrastructures, plus a cross-vertical smart city-like ecosystem for supply-chain assessments.

Objective #6: To identify the EU Social, ethical, legal, and privacy policy aspects of the INTACT system, and to ensure its promotion and dissemination to National and EU academic and industrial bodies related to cybersecurity.
