Matthew Breslin
Matt presently works as a Data Protection Officer and he has been responsible for introducing and maintaining a regulatory and compliant environment in various organisations. From time to time Matt engages in consultancy work and operates as a mediator as well as a business compliance and regulatory advisor. Matt is also a certified Data Privacy and Compliance Consultant and supports organisations in their compliance obligations on a freelance basis. Matt is ICP’s external compliance Director and DPO.
Ian O'Donovan
Ian is a skilled project manager with extensive experience in successfully leading large consortiums of partners from industry and research, and works regularly with European SMEs, multinationals and public authorities to develop projects on a wide spectrum of collaboration and research topics such as new technology adoption, climate action and sustainability. Working with a range of stakeholders both local and international, Ian has a track record in bringing together teams from diverse disciplines and securing public and private funding. Ian brings significant project management experience having worked in the aerospace engineering sector and IT software development in Germany, delivering for global industrial clients as well as for government agencies.
Ursula Liliam Castillo Guevara
Ursula is a United Nations Educator, Executive Coach, and experienced consultant working to actively engage the public and private sectors in aligning business activities with sustainable development. She holds a BSc in International Relations from La Sapienza University of Rome, and an IMBA in International Business Administration from Luiss Business School. She has covered a wide range of roles promoting meaningful dialogue with purpose-driven business leaders to co-create lasting solutions for a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Space 2030 Agenda. Her participation, dedication, and spirit toward aligning business models with sustainable development principles are the main elements that motivate Ursula to drive innovation and co-create value in commercialization initiatives at ICP.
Yash Chadha
Yash is the Director of EU Projects and Finance, and he is an entrepreneurial Business Leader with a proven track record of achievement over 25 years in the financial management of technology, distribution, recycling, security and service portfolios. He has specialist expertise in shaping strategic direction, driving change and delivering significantly increased business performance. He has held a Director position in both private and public companies across 25 years he currently oversees business development activities across Inlecom Ireland, UK, Belgium and Greece.
Dr. David Cosgrave
David brings over 10+ years' of experience in both the academic and commercial worlds. David has lectured at several highly accredited universities, both in Ireland and internationally, in the areas of digital marketing, international business, and marketing intelligence. David is currently the Director of the Exam Performance Institute. Commercially, David has helped successfully launch products and services across a range of industries by creating go-to-market plans. David’s passion is helping companies understand the problems of their customers to deliver value.
Dr. Maria Jose Bustos
Dr. Maria Jose Bustos is a biologist specialised in molecular biology and genetics. She has over four years of experience as a freelance proposal writer for the SME Instrument and EIC Accelerator programmes, which are part of the Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe framework. In this role, she has raised €100k and helped a number of SMEs (mostly related to the healthcare sector) to define their commercial and business objectives with the aim to develop and prepare successful business proposals.
Dr. Kata Trifkovic
Dr. Kata Trifkovic has a vast interest in innovations in food systems. She strongly believes the change we urgently need to introduce to our conservative food systems, from production, through each step of the supply chain, to the consumer awareness of healthy and sustainable food choices, must be done through innovative approaches, innovations and support of researchers and start-ups/companies doing so. Kata has 10+ years of experience in developing proposals, managing and delivering research projects in the domain of food science and technology, active and sustainable packaging, targeted nutrition and new product development. Her role in ICP is primarily focused on advancing the research innovation and fostering the commercialization of research outputs for a number of EU funded projects.
Dr. Christos Roupas
Christos, has worked as a Project Director in more than 15 EU projects related to the management, analysis and design of Information Systems, as well as market impact analysis in the context of ICT technologies, and enterprise interoperability. He has 15 years of industry experience in conception, analysis and implementation of information technology systems in various industries, with a primary focus to the successful commercialisation of R&D projects.
Angela O’Sullivan
Angela is an experienced leader with a 28-year history across senior industry positions, with her latter 17 years supporting Loans, Regulations, Life Assurance and Anti Money Laundering function at head office level for the financial services sectors at INBS, Anglo and IBRC. In recent years, Angela is managing fiduciary and IP related KPIs for several of Inlecom’s EU SME clients, as well as overseeing the associated filing disposition of a pipeline of 40+ patents in EU, USA, Canada and other global regions.
Dr. Mark Bennett
Mark has over twenty years of experience in identifying the commercial value of early stage technologies and has successfully managed IP, implemented commercialisation strategies, and sourced partners and investors for well over fifty technologies to date - including five spinouts. Most recently Mark was Head of Commercialisation for a UK University, and he previously led commercial activities for a public-private-partnership in the low carbon sector and held senior roles in Philips in the Netherlands leading technology licensing and an internal venture
Derek has worked on the commercialisation of research results from biotechnology for over a decade. First, he worked identifying investment opportunities at Illinois Ventures, an early stage VC company. Then, he took different roles, from science to business, at Greenaltech, a start-up company producing new ingredients from microalgae for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics applications. Recently, at Leitat Technological Center, he has developed innovative concepts for collaborative EU R&D about the circular and biobased economy. Derek holds a PhD in biotechnology.
Dr Vassilios Albanis
Vassilios has over 20 years’ experience in technology transfer and commercialisation across a wide range of early-stage technologies. He has worked with SMEs to evaluate technology concepts on technical and market viability towards the creation of new products and services. In recent years, Vassilios worked at UCL Business ltd, where he supported academic teams in the commercialisation of innovative technologies. Vassilios has set up spinout companies, developed business plans and technology roadmaps, and raised early-stage investment.
Dr. Ronan Frizzell
Ronan combines practical industrial experience with a rich technology background from numerous research management roles. Formerly a department head with Nokia Bell Labs, he oversaw a broad range of advanced research projects, all aiming to deliver new and commercially-relevant technology to the telecom market. Driven by making real-world impact from novel technology, Ronan’s principal areas of focus in ICP are commercial exploitation of research assets and IP protection.
Anna George is a certified senior project manager (PMP, PRINCE2) with more than 16 years of practical PM experience and nearly 20 years of total work experience, working in delivery focused, multicultural environment in multiple industries, such as Telecom, IT, Building Products, Transport Research. For the last 6 years Anna has managed and successfully delivered a plethora of projects for the European Commission under various framework contracts, coordinating multiple partners and incorporating large stakeholder engagements.
Colin is an experienced innovative engineer, inspired by using technology to make lasting impact. He has an extensive engineering & business background with an emphasis on R&D, Commercialisation and Validation in the Energy, Manufacturing, Technology and Healthcare sectors. He was worked with number of Start-ups, Spin Outs & EU funded projects, leading actions to validate, commercialise and launch new innovative solutions. His main focus in ICP is to act as an Innovation & Commercialisation PI, to provide proactive support in advancing innovation, patent protection and commercialisation goals for a number of EU funded R&D projects
Jenny has over 21 years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager of multidisciplinary, ambitious international research projects, with a profound understanding of the complexities of managing diverse stakeholders to deliver quality results. Jenny leads winning project teams across geographies to deliver complex, high value projects, consistently achieving business outcomes, on budget, in the necessary timescales. Adept at managing conflict, removing barriers and resolving issues, turning around failing projects to secure success for executive stakeholders. Jenny holds an MBA and is a certified PRINCE2 practitioner
Patrick has led a range of commercial enterprises over an extensive career in enterprise technology with commercial leadership positions in global technology providers such as Teradata, Informix, SAS Institute, and as CEO of iQuate, he led the company from a very early stage to become a recognised global leader in IT cost optimisation. In recent years, Patrick has supported several research groups to assess the commercial applicability of their research and support them with practical market validation for their technology solutions.
Pat has a 20+ year history in translating R&D funding into commercial outputs across prominent leadership roles in organisations such as QSS, Quark, Lotus as well as CTO at IBM where he supported numerous SMEs towards accelerating their commercial roadmaps in IBM’s SME/GEP acceleration program. He is ranked in Wikipedia’s list of prolific inventors with 360 granted patents. Today, Pat supports a broad ecosystem of EU SMEs in patent protection and commercialisation across several EU funded projects
Takis is the Inlecom Group MD and he has 30+ year history in guiding €100+m of EC funding to support the EU industry sector in advancing state of the art across various industry verticals. Throughout this time he has led the technical management and coordination of various EC projects (research and commercial). He is a strong supporter to the EC’s agenda in incentivising economic benefits for the EU SME sector, with projects under his management evidencing dozens of successful patents as well as supporting many commercially deployed/exploited applications that have advanced 100s of SMEs across Europe.
